Write a paragraph on your ideal vacation using 2 sentences of Pattern 1 and 2 sentences of Pattern 2.

Thursday and Friday (before Thanksgiving Break)

Your Metamorphosis project is DUE!!! (Remember if you need an extension to come see me before the day it is due)

Over Thanksgiving break, you are to have read at least one chapter in your independent reading book.

When we return from break:

1. we will set up a schedule for the independent reading project. 
2. Please bring your The Art of Styling Sentences book to class,

Study for your vocabulary quiz (#4 - Funny Words)
You should have thought about your creative project at this point; it is due on FRIDAY!! Make sure all parts are included.

Independent Reading Assignment

You may find the requirement for the independent reading assignment HERE

Due Thursday 11/10 and Monday 11/14

1) You are to read Metamorphosis - Part 3.

2) You are to write a well-developed paragraph (only)

a. solid topic sentence - what is the main idea of your paragraph

b. develop ideas further

c. support your ideas with a quote from the book

d. explain how your quote supports your main point.

3) find an independent reading book.

4) Start thinking about your creative visual representation of Metamorphosis.

DUE Tuesday 11/8 and Wednesday 11/9

1) Read Part 2 of Metamorphosis.
2) Find two passages that you find insightful and enlightening to Gregor's circumstances. Be ready to discuss WHY you think the passage is important and WHAT in the passage made you think so....look at word choice, imagery, symbolism, etc....
