Wednesday 9/28 and Friday 9/30
For Day1/2, let's slow it down a bit. We will work on vocab unit #2, but we will revisit the stories of "Yellow Woman" and "Mad Dog," as well as your papers. I know there is some anxiety over the papers, but they are reflective pieces. You will be challenged in terms of comprehension and analysis.

Homework for Monday, 9/26(odd) and Tuesday, 9/27 (even)
You are to read the short stories "Yellow Woman" (p 427) and "I'm a Mad Dog Biting Myself" (p 148).
After you are finished reading them, think about how they connect with the story "What you Pawn, I will Redeem" by Sherman Alexie that we read for class this past week.
Then TYPE (with correct heading) a 1-2 page response that discusses how the three stories connect Native American culture and ideology with modern American culture. You may discuss the characters' struggles, difficulty "fitting" in, etc...Make sure you use examples from the stories, citing them properly.
